Tank controls are the best for sure as you need to be able to tap back to get the perfect run and jump to be able to grab a ledge. Modern controls don't allow you to do that so you die a lot because you miss ledges

Palace Midas, took me 2 hours to get through. I'd forgotten how excellent these levels were. They are timeless classics.

Okay, time to close the curtains, draw the blinds, turn the lights out, get the headphones on and head into the Cistern for a Raid.

Is there a gameplay killer in the Cistern? I've just picked up the gold key, and there's a closed door leading back to the main area, and I can't get out the way I came in.

Yes, just checked Stella's walkthrough and the spikes are supposed to kill you. I dropped down to the right of the spikes and walked through them, so I'm stuck. Will have to go back to a previous save.
