Right, level 1 alpha testing begins this evening. Hopefully it won't be too long before I begin work on level 2. It will be interesting to see the stats for this one.

The game is on hold as it is completely unplayable at the moment and is impossible to play until fixed. The game doesn't go to Load Save when Lara dies, it goes back to the beginning of the level. As the level begins with a long flyby camera sequence it means you have to watch the opening flyby every time Lara dies before you can load a save game.

I'm taking a break from building until this is fixed.

First full run through done. It's an easy level which I can run through quickly, but it takes a heck of a lot of exploring if you don't know the direct route. Over 3 kms travelled, so that's a big level by my standards.

That's level 1 alpha tested, so I'll get on with building the WAD and texture set for level 2 tomorrow. Here are a few screens, including new stats. Hard to believe you can build so many big areas in one level without the Editor throwing fits and crashing. No lag either, it's just amazing.

Took a couple of days but I've finally managed to get the second level working and I've just managed to get the level jump from level 1 working. Wasn't as simple as I'd hoped, but I got there in the end. Okay, level 2 is under construction.

Nice screens...👍 Guess there is a bit of learning curb with that new editor?

Yes there is. I had a problem with the second level because the Editor wasn't naming the converted tr4 file correctly. Took me a while to discover that the Editor was building a *.tr4 file, so the scripts were not picking it up and the game crashed at load. What I did was name the *.tr4 file as paradise2.tr4 and it played and now the Editor converts it correctly. It's a bug, but hey, I found a workaround and now I can enjoy building the second level.
